Annual Fairbrother Ride

Event #6 – February 2024

On February 16th a number of our Fairbrother employees, subcontractors, clients and consultants joined together to embark on a 350km, two day cycling challenge in North West Tasmania. Starting at our Head Office in Devonport, the group rode through to the rugged west coast of Tasmania to the township of Tullah where they were greeted with fantastic hospitality from the Tullah Lakeside Lodge. Day two then saw the group ride from Tullah, through the rolling hills and farmland towards Gunns Plains before finishing back in Devonport after covering some 6,000 vertical meters of climbing over the 350km journey. They were treated with some fantastic weather, and grateful that all participants made through the event without incident.

This event has generated an amazing level of support with an overall fundraising tally which has surpassed our $100,000 target to land at an amazing $108,275! The Fairbrother Foundation is extremely grateful for all donations, the kind and giving nature among our community is something we can all be proud of.

Event #5 – February 2023

We’re extremely grateful to be reporting that the donations for our 2023 Fairbrother Ride came to $95,796!

Other than the 20 minutes or so where around half of the group were stuck in a torrential downpour, the weather was rather kind to everyone this year.

It was a fantastic weekend, where 32 cyclists tackled the 178km route from our Devonport office to Miena in the Tasmanian highlands via the infamous Poatina climb before a 180km return trip the following day through Godlen Valley, Mole Creek, and Echo Valley.

In an amazing effort from all riders and support crew, everyone completed the challenging ride safely and without incident.

Event #4 – February 2022

Our fourth annual Fairbrother Ride was held across the 18th and 19th of February 2022. This year we raised a ground breaking $95,203 for the Fairbrother Foundation.

The event was tackled by 31 riders and 8 crew members, who ventured from Devonport to Bicheno in two days (riding a total of 370km!).

Event #2 – February 2020

Fairbrother’s second annual Charity Ride was held in February 2020 and raised $55,895 for the Fairbrother Foundation.

The 2020 event saw rider numbers grow to 29 with 7 crew members supporting them. This year, the riders were split into two groups and sent off at different times – the slower riders headed off first and the faster riders left 30 minutes later. This allowed all riders to arrive at the lunch stops at roughly the same time. It also prevented vehicles from being caught behind a bunch of 30 riders unable to pass safely.

Along with the addition of new riders, the 2020 event also saw a change of course. This time, riders covered a round trip from Devonport and back over two days with an overnight stop at Miena.

Thank you to the riders and crew for participating in another successful charity ride event.
