The first stage consisted of the construction of three buildings, including an administration building and two classroom buildings, as well as a significant external civil and landscaping package.

The structure of the buildings was a design incorporating a mix of timber and steel. To achieve the cohesion between the materials, Fairbrother had the entire structure shop drawn and pre-fabricated prior to arriving on site for the final install.

The internal areas consisted of open, high-ceiling areas with acoustic wall and ceiling linings throughout to ensure an acoustic performance that was second to none.

The second stage of works included the construction of six new buildings. The works comprised a classroom attached to stage one works, a new three-building administration block, a workshop with bus parking and a gym with a full-sized basketball court, kitchen, stage and classrooms.

Outside, there was a significant landscaping package, consisting of an irrigated sports oval, two basketball courts, play equipment, lawn and garden areas, sandpits, and a paved courtyard area. A carpark was also completed to allow staff to have off-street parking.

One major challenge early on in the project was the management of a significant quantity of contaminated soil. This soil was safely encapsulated underneath the sports oval.

The project was completed ahead of schedule despite significant rainfall events during the structural works, which resulted in delays of approximately one month. The COVID-19 pandemic also impacted the project, however, these delays were overcome by dilligent and efficient planning and programming.
