Fairbrother Joinery was responsible for the architectural fit-out of the BMRI’s Sydney facility within a broad-ranging design brief. Sydney Blue Gum planter boxes incorporate laminate surfaces and high quality two-pack paint finishes. Counters feature toughened glass fronts and tops trimmed with anodised aluminium – two of which incorporate lead lining to provide protection from residual radiation to employees in the clinical area.

Tas Oak veneer wall panelling features extensively throughout and a flight of Sydney Blue Gum stairs and handrails has been installed. Two large screens – one of which is fully operable – have also been manufactured from the local blue gum timber.

All of the joinery elements for this visually striking and yet highly functional fit-out were manufactured in Devonport, before being carefully transported to Sydney for installation by Tasmanian tradesmen.
