About Fitout of three floors, from ground to level two, of the Heritage listed Customs House building in Sydney.

The fitout was designed to create a modern, functional and well-designed library facility. This project is arguably one of the most architecturally detailed and complex fitout projects that Fairbrother has undertaken, combining a high level of visual appeal for customers with a unique design that blends with and enhances the age and characteristics of the beautiful heritage building.

Achieving a high level finish was paramount, and the combination of finishes used has resulted in a fitout that is both visually and functionally unparalleled. All fitout components were manufactured in Tasmania and delivered to site via road freight and the Spirit of Tasmania service from Devonport.

Selected finishes include:

Select grade Tasmanian Myrtle veneer and solid timber finished in a dark polyurethane stain finish
High gloss polyurethane paint finishes over fibreglass resin substrates
Large steel frames and support structures
Glass and acrylic components
