| About |
Fitout of the
kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, wine cellar, all wardrobes
and storage cupboards, and the installation of a
magnificent curved staircase. |
The Bonney Residence in Breadalbane, Northern Tasmania is one of Fairbrother Joinery's showcase
residential projects. Reminiscent of a large Georgian
homestead set in a rural landscape, the joinery is
of a very high standard both in terms of the quality
of materials selected and the exceptional finishes
achieved.
The project scope encompassed the fit out of the
kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, wine cellar, all wardrobes
and storage cupboards, and the installation of a
magnificent curved staircase.
Located at the sunny eastern end of the house, the
spacious kitchen features cream two-pack cabinets
and sparkling stone benchtops throughout. Nearby is
a thermostatically controlled Tas Oak wine cellar with
an arched timber ceiling. A private study incorporates
classic blackwood joinery.
The double front doors are custom built from the finest
cedar whilst all internal doors feature a two-pack
painted finish.
By far the biggest challenge was the manufacture and
installation of a curved blackwood staircase which had
to be setup in the workshop before being transported to
the house. The sweeping arc of the staircase is finished
with a steel balustrade and blackwood hand rails.
This project was the winner of an MBA Tasmania
Excellence Award. |
