About Construction of a 7 storey apartment and retail development

Fairbrother Pty Ltd, in completing construction of the 7 storey Hunter Street development, have added another landmark building to Hobart’s waterfront.  The development consists of 2 levels of carparking, 28 serviced apartments over the next 2 levels, and 3 floors of residential apartments which are a combination of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, 4 Sub Penthouses and finally 3 stunning Penthouses.  The ground floor also contains the serviced apartment’s reception, a conference room, and separate tenancy fitouts (restaurant, café and real estate offices).  A central lift core contains 2 lifts, one servicing 5 floors and the other 6.

The external treatment of the building consists of white concrete precast panels, a steel façade supplemented with varying levels of sunshade protection, balustrades and access walkways, and on both Hunter and Evans Streets a sandstone façade. All this design was undertaken in strict consultation with the Hobart City Council’s planning requirements in maintaining the “old with the new” approach.
