Aurora Energy Southern Operations Centre

Fairbrother has been engaged to build a complex at Kennedy Drive Cambridge in conjunction with HBV architects, Gandy Roberts structural engineers, and JMG services engineers, that will house Aurora's storage facility and part of its Administration relocation from Moonah.

The new complex is set on approximately 58 thousand square metres, with office amenities, an 18 thousand square metre hardpan area, and a store that covers 5 thousand square metres. The project, with a total value of $14.5 million, is due for completion at the end of June 2007.

On-site works are well advanced. Currently the administration building is going through finishing touches, with commissioning being undertaken and the final touches being added including sunshade blinds, landscaping, BBQ area formation, toilet partitions and loose furniture. This building is imminently ready for occupation.

The store building is also in full swing, with finishing trades undertaking door installation, panel placement to all wall surfaces, and those last minute changes that inevitably occur as directed by our architect and client.

Externally, we are closing in on the 18 thousand square metres of concrete finishing to the hardpan area, with all infrastructure works being placed ready for commissioning. Our landscaper has many fronts to work on at present, with only the weather determining what and where he can go.

The project is set for an on time and on budget completion, of which both the client and architect are extremely grateful, and which is a credit to the team on site.
