Substantial rebuild

This challenging project involved the substantial demolition of an existing dwelling and the construction of a new dwelling on a site that had poor access and little free space.
The existing floor structure in the core of the dwelling was reused to form 3 x bedrooms and laundry with a single garage added to the western side, and kitchen, sitting, dining and living rooms added to the eastern side of the property.

180 degree view of Derwent River

The latter areas consist of steel as the structural component with timber framed custom orb clad walls containing glazing allowing an expansive 180 degree view to the Derwent River. Spotted gum decks line the northern side of the property and lead to the eastern deck which sits foremost of the site boundary and looks directly down on the beach below.
