The Charles Hotel consists of 99 hotel rooms including kitchenettes, wardrobes and vanities - all fitted out with quality myrtle bed heads & bedside cabinets - vinyl wrapped doors and drawers, and Laminex Freestyle bench tops.
The Charles Reception and Foyer involved installation of the bar’s stone work, glass splash backs, stainless steel, Blackheart and Golden Sassafras veneer wall panels and glass light pelmets. The Reception counter was painted in a two pack finish. Fairbrother Joinery supplied and Installed four different sets of sliding doors all made out of Blackheart Sassafras veneer with solid Golden Sassafras timber edges, a woven wall ceiling, and wall feature panels.

This unusual project provided Fairbrother Joinery with the opportunity to incorporate a broad range of unique materials including woven wall panels in reception, a combination of natural and reconstituted stone, glass splash backs and wall panelling. All timbers are Tasmanian.
The renovation and incorporation of the ‘Old Hospital Building’ has transformed it into a high class, architectural building with an architectural design.
