CONSTRUCTION COMPANY ELATED BY MASTER BUILDERS SUCCESS

At a celebration of outstanding achievements in the Tasmanian building industry, respected construction and joinery firm, Fairbrother Pty Ltd, have been recognised with a staggering nine awards for excellence. Presented at the annual Master Builders Association of Tasmania Awards for Excellence at a gala dinner on Friday 14 August in Hobart, the impressive haul follows eight awards in 2008.

Fairbrother Construction & Joinery General Manager, Mr Peter Killick, said of the accolades, “These awards are recognition of our peoples’ hard work and unwavering commitment to quality. The standard of workmanship in our industry is very high, so to achieve such a strong result is incredibly humbling.”

A major Tasmanian employer, Fairbrother was awarded Employer of Choice status by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism in 2007 and has numerous state and national titles to its name. Established by respected northwest businessman Royce Fairbrother and his wife Thea in 1973, the company has grown to encompass a diverse range of services including building construction and joinery, facility management and maintenance and mechanical services. The firm also operates a construction division in Bendigo, Victoria – evidence of their ability to compete on the national stage.

“People and teamwork have always been at the core of what we do” added Mr Killick.
