Fairbrother acknowledged as employer of choice and also leading employer of tasmanian apprentices

Fairbrother places great emphasis on the importance of its employees as the company’s greatest asset, and furthermore is committed to providing a workplace in which training, development and career progression are continuously fostered.

The company’s success in creating an outstanding workplace has now been acknowledged via two separate prestigious awards.

Firstly, on 6 July 2007, Fairbrother was presented with a 2007 Employer of Choice Award by the Deputy Tasmanian Premier, Minister Steve Kons.

Key in gaining this Award are the variety of initiatives in place at Fairbrother to develop employees and provide an outstanding workplace. These include Fairbrother’s Building Leaders leadership development program, health and wellbeing initiatives, the company-wide focus on training and development, the Apprentice Mentor Program, the annual Employee Engagement Survey, and the company’s emphasis on its core values.

Then, closely following this award, on 22 August 2007, Fairbrother’s longstanding commitment to developing apprentices was acknowledged when the National Minister for Vocational and Further Education, the Hon Andrew Robb, presented Fairbrother with the 2007 Minister’s Awards for Excellence for Employers of Australian Apprentices, Tasmanian region. This Award, recognising Fairbrother's commitment, innovation and outstanding achievement in training of Apprentices, was presented at a Gala Dinner held at the exclusive Members Dining Room, Melbourne Cricket Ground.
